BECOME A LENTEN PRAYER PARTNER FOR OUR ELECT & CANDIDATES

The Church tells us that it is the entire parish’s responsibility to support and welcome those preparing for baptism, confirmation and Eucharist this Easter.  One of the many ways you can do this is to become a prayer partner for one of our Elect and candidates.  You are asked to pray every day for him/her during Lent, asking for God’s blessings and guidance.  Also, notes and cards will be collected during Holy Week to be given to the Elect before Easter.  Prayer cards are available at the place of prayer located in the church near the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and at the east side of the church near the St. Joseph Shrine in Holy Rosary Church, where you can also learn more about each of them in our Book of the Elect & Candidates (which is also on our websites).  Your prayers make a difference!!

Our catechumens are: Charlie Cohen, Johanna Eby, Josh Hagan, Dylan Hayes, Seth Lopez, Lorenzo Mascio, Rocco Mascio, Vincent Mascio, Renee Post, and Satara Post

Our candidates are: Evan DeVries, Queenie Fetoia, William Helenberg, Rachel Keen, Jason Mercer, Robert Mania, Ian Robinson, Hannah Sarquilla, and John Spanier.

This month’s Catholic Update is titled “Humility is Still a Virtue”.   Humility can be our path back to courtesy, respect, and good manners in face to-face exchanges and especially on social media. We might join Pope Leo in his prayer that the Church (and perhaps our homes, schools, and work places) “will always be a school of humility for everyone, a home where all are welcome, a place where rivalries are set aside and where Jesus still speaks to us and teaches us to imitate his own humility and freedom.”
